I had a blast this weekend in Maine. Mostly said blast terminated my lower back shoveling a couple cubic yards of dirt with Jon.
(Is is wrong to discuss a Hue and funeral plans while moving a mound?)
It was wonderfully lovely to spend some quality time with the wife and soak up some fresh Maine air. Cats and chickens, couches and comfort, TV and TMI, all good.
Drank with the CT locals (including a Norwalk newbie) yesterday at the New Haven pub moot and collapsed early.
I am a hurting unit today but I'll happily consider it a Hof toll for this weekend's Blot. I also have my Grandfather's tombstone unveiling next Sunday. That will be a major suck in driving. 5 Hrs. to Maine on Friday, 5 hrs back on Saturday, 2 to Long Island on Sunday and 2 back.
So it will be a bonus Ipod load for the next week.
Speaking of Ipods, I think I'm going to blog my listening habits since music really doesn't cut it for me.
Speaking of loads, I've had some interesting battles between Jotun worshipers and self-appointed Crusaders, which I also may blog about.
We shall see. Stay tuned for tales of shotgunned zombies, in progress.

Busy, social and fun weekend.
Hung out with the wife, Dana, Gerd and Stacy on Friday and Saturday. The woman-folk made a bellycast for the not-so little lady. (Their results do look cool.) So the men-folk went shooting. Gerd has some wonderfully fun and lethal high-powered handguns. I am in fear and awe of his Glock - a sweet piece of fine German engineering designed to put holes in things. Amazingly, I still have good-hand eye coordination from my days in summer camp... (Civ 5 in 2 weeks!) Go figure.
Yesterday, Annie organized a carpool to see Fenrismal in a small club in upstate New York. It was a Battle of the Bands and Josh and the band brought their A game. Not that it was needed since some bands fled apparently hearing their name and never showed up and the other two just plain sucked. And for bonus I got to chat with folks from Vingolf, Laered and all the other fine folks who showed up to rock. I even moshed.
Blot this weekend for Freyfaxi. More time with more good folks? Maybe I can survive the week... :)

Back from ECT and Viking Restaurant Raiding
I had full intentions to stay quite late tonight at work but it's just not going to happen at this rate. I got plenty of sleep last night but I'm just Toast and spent. Had dinner with some of the CT contingent, yesterday.
ECT kicked my butt, but in a good way. Everything went off well and much fun was had. I have plenty of tasty stories. I'd love to do a full play-by-play but certainly the energy is just not there anytime soon... We shall see.
I recorded a metric crapload of Awesometastic classes. If the Gods of recording are kind I should have some fantastic material for a good long time.
But I do have to wonder if some folks last week broke away for some raiding and pillaging...http://www.aolnews.com/weird-news/article/norse-hollywood-dining-vikings-raid-la-restaurants-ikeas/19606725http://tinyurl.com/25jkexa

Once again I'm hip and trendy and PSpace madness
"Kelly Sutton is a 22-year-old software engineer in Brookyln. He says he has gotten rid of all of his possessions, save for "his laptop, an iPad, an Amazon Kindle, two external hard drives, a 'few' articles of clothing, and bed sheets for a mattress that was left in his newly rented apartment." He has a some other items that he is unloading on his website, Cult of Less."
BTW; PSpace has hit a fever pitch with random D-baggery. I'm pulling out a religious discrimination accusation against Freyja's Man. Fuck him if he can't take a joke.

Sandi came down this weekend. And we hung out with Gerd and Stacy.
The little one demanded that we see Despicable Me (and Kay too). It was very cute and delightful and parties were very pleased with it. For a kids movie it seemed rather intelligent (or maybe my expectations are just so low that I expect all kids movies to look like Garfield and Baby Einstein.
Much Indian food was eaten and fun was had.
Your weekly WTF
Powerslave, good heavy metal band. Godslave, just plain wrong.
You identify as a Godslave: this triggers a lot of people. They are terrified at the idea that a God might claim them or force them to do something without their consent. Could you talk a bit about what "Godslave" means and how being a Godslave effects your life?Galina Krasskova
It defines my life. Every blessing that I have, and I have been gifted with many, has come to me as a result of my service. You do the work and the Gods will pour blessings in to your hands. At the same time: where I work, what I do, where I live, whether or not I can have any particular partner, sometimes what I eat and drink and wear are all dictated to me. How much sleep I get, and what friends I may have are impacted by Odin’s ownership of me. How I spend my money falls under a powerful taboo too. I am held to an extremely high standard by my Gods. Furthermore, if anyone or anything in my personal life interferes with that relationship, with my service to Him, they do not long remain in my life.

The Executioner is Fired
Attila is not doing his job. I am firing him as the Chief Executioner of all things rodent, as of right now.
Of course, his expression to me says everything. That he has no frigging clue as to what to do about flying things. Bats are clearly beyond his job description. As I type this Attila is hiding in the basement, until the coast is clear. And now is in my lap wide-eyed.
As far as the bat, he easily evaded my flailing attempts to capture him (either on my phone or sheet). And the bat is now tucked away behind my dryer. I am hopeful that he will accept the open top window and go but frankly I doubt it.
For the record, this is the SECOND bat I've found in my home.

Clearly, I am getting old when I think Helen Mirren is hot.
On the otherhand I also think a gatling gun could absolutely be brought into the bedroom as a marital aid...
Ok, back to DDO.

Time with Zimbardo
Zimbardo and Milgram are two my heros.
The work that they have done in social psychology is nothing short of bravery of the highest order.

Thor is Gay
And not in a Sausagefest way, but in a Dancing with the Fucking Stars, twinkle-toes way.
The signs don't look good.
